BlinkID 6.7.0: Real ID Support & UX Improvements

From month to month, we are updating our most popular product, BlinkID. In the newest release, BlinkID v6.7.0, we are bringing the detection of Real ID symbols on US identification cards and additional UX improvements while scanning various global IDs.

Document Coverage & Recognition 

Real ID symbol detection on US driver’s license and IDs

• Get ready to be compliant with Real ID regulations. BlinkID can now identify Real ID symbols on US driver’s licenses and IDs. The SDK or API provides feedback on their presence or absence.

Improved capture of US documents

• This feature ensures that the backside is properly captured beyond users scanning the front side (i.e- users may accidentally or intentionally capture a different object for the “back.”.) BlinkID now requires the presence of a barcode before saving the back frame of US documents. Processing status `BarcodeDetectionFailed` is returned when the mandatory barcode is not present on the back of US documents.

Improved privacy and security with partial anonymization 

• We have received requests to enhance user privacy and security with partial anonymization. BlinkID now offers the option of partially anonymizing the document number from the scanned document.

UX Improvements

Extended duration for UI messages 

• UI messages now remain visible longer after scanning, improving the user experience. Users can now review post-scanning messages at a comfortable pace, leading to a smoother process.

Success indicator for front-side capture

• BlinkID now displays a clear success indicator after scanning the front side of a document. This visual cue enhances user confidence by providing immediate feedback during scanning.
